ABOUT ASIM GAFFAR
A structural engineer with over 19 years’ experience within the construction industry which includes 15 years serving as a temporary works design engineer with TWC experience. Have completed over designs and checks of temporary works from shoring excavations to propping structures. Competent designing with different materials timber, steel & concrete to BS5268, BS5950, BS8110. Have a great understanding of soil mechanics and foundation design to BS8002 & BS8004. Ensure all temporary works comply with the CDM regulations and BS5975, temporary works procedures and permissible stress design of falsework. Have written design procedures, briefs and TW registers. Practical onsite experience to make critical design decisions without compromising safety, fostering a culture of care and concern for others.Previous to engineering, represented Great Britain in gymnastics and was ranked No.2 in the UK for taking second place in the National Competition which led me to become North West team captain for 4 consecutive years.
