It can be broadly divided into two phases. viz As a F&A Practitioner during first 10 years & as a Finance Transformation Leader & consultant during second part of my career comprising 26 years.The second phase of my career as a consultant in TCS - an IT services company, has been quite interesting as I got multiple opportunities to learn & contribute into wide spectrum of IT business and also to travel abroad & meet with different people. In this phase I worked on assignments like a functional consultant on many large enterprise transformation projects; in purely managerial roles managing large teams delivering support services to large international organizations; managing Contracts & Service Level Agreements; write & present business proposals, manage business relationships etc. During these 26 years I also had a high learning & contributing stint in the quality organization as a Six Sigma Master Black Belt. As part of the core team which was set up to drive six sigma DNA within the organization, Setting up & streamlining IT processes & thereby realizing efficiencies & effectiveness in operations in real dollar terms was the key responsibility.
