ABOUT ASHTON CHARGE
I’m a Solutions & Software Architect at Deloitte, working across automation architecture, CI/CD pipeline design, and scalable service delivery for security-critical UK government infrastructure on AWS.My route into architecture has been less conventional than most. I began as an SDET and was selected early in my career as part of a Deloitte initiative to identify and develop architectural talent from within the firm. Since then, I have taken on increasing responsibility for QA and delivery pipeline architecture within a Home Office programme, working closely with senior architects and technical leaders.My experience has given me deep specialisation in a complex, regulated environment, particularly around the pipelines, tooling, and delivery architecture that support secure software delivery from development through to pre-production. More recently, my work has included designing architectural approaches for AI integration within mature delivery environments and supporting their adoption within a large-scale government programme.
