Ashtar has produced, directed, and edited numerous commercials, documentaries, corporate films and feature film productions in India, the Middle East, South East Asia, Africa and the United States. Throughout his career, he has cultivated relationships with technicians and vendors from around the world. His most recent featured that released in 2017 called Maatr, starring Raveena Tandon was critically acclaimed and also premiered on Star Gold Select and also currently streaming on Hotstar. His earlier award winning feature called \'Bijuka (Scarecrow)\', was well received in different film festivals across the world and had its North american premiere at the SXSW film festival 2012. Ashtar has worked with Numero Uno International, a Sanjay Khan company; Percept Advertising, now also a leading film distributor; JWT Mumbai; Y&R Dubai; EURO RSCG Mumbai & France; Ambience D’Arcy Mumbai; Ogilvy Mumbai & Madagascar; Factories Madagascar; and Leo Burnett Mumbai. His advertising experience encompasses brands such as Coca-Cola, Close up, Philips, Faber-Castell, Orange, Daewoo, Air Madagascar, Lux, Sharp TV, and SONY. He has also directed advocacy campaigns for Save the Children India and Catholic Relief Services. Ashtar’s trademark is simple stories, simply told. He is an avid fan of classic comics, Nautanki - India’s traditional folk theatre, and spirited storytelling.
