HistopathologyReceive, label, and accession surgical and biopsy specimens.Perform grossing of small tissue specimens under supervision; assist in grossing large/complex specimens.Process tissues through fixation, dehydration, embedding, and sectioning using microtomes.Prepare high-quality histological slides for microscopic evaluation.Perform special staining techniques (H&E, PAS, immunohistochemistry, etc.) as per diagnostic needs.Maintain equipment (tissue processors, embedding centers, microtomes) and troubleshoot minor issues.CytologyCollect, prepare, and process cytological specimens (e.g, Pap smears, body fluids, FNAC samples).Prepare smears, cytospins, and cell blocks for microscopic analysis.Perform staining techniques (Pap stain, Giemsa, H&E, and other cytochemical stains).Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of cytology samples.Pathology GrossingAssist pathologists in gross examination of specimens.Accurately describe, measure, and section tissues for further processing.Follow proper biosafety measures for handling infectious or hazardous specimens.Photograph or digitally record gross specimens when required.
