ABOUT ASHMITHA SRIRASAN
I\'m a 4th-year MBio Biomedical Science student at the University of Warwick; during my 3rd year of undergraduate studies, I achieved a first-class dissertation titled \'Modelling Intervention Strategies to Control an Epidemic\'. Currently, I\'m engaged in my integrated Masters virology-based research project at the Thompson Lab within the Warwick Medical School, where I am investigating potential pandemic Influenza subtypes. My previous scientific involvement further includes representing the University of Warwick at the 2022 iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machine) Synthetic Biology competition. I played a leadership role in developing an innovative sensing and degradation system designed to target pyrethroid pesticides. Our efforts earned us a \'Gold Award\' and a nomination for \'Best Environmental Project\'.
