Reconcile daily commodity futures trades, match position balances with internal and external systems and identify breaks with the counterparty. • Ensure margin requirements are calculated correctly. Calculate daily initial margin and verify it with the broker’s margin calculations to avoid margin call shocks. • Monitor timely closing out of commodity futures positions and exposure management. Publish expiry notices for existing futures contracts along with a summary of all open positions to the trading desk and management. Monitor timely settlements of OTC transactions with counterparties to avoid defaults. • Mitigate regulatory and market risk. Identify gaps in the Risk Management Policy and recommend enhancements to the risk management policy.• Ensure proper implementation of processes and controls, and reduce errors. Design comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with segregation of duties from Front Office, Middle Office and Back Office perspectives and identify key operational controls for undertaking hedging transactions.• Audit: Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) audits across multiple departments such as Services, Billing, Operations, etc. Identify the financial impact of ineffective controls, test results, and suggest remedial actions to control operators. • Technology Transformation: Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) for key processes, including inputs on the Risk and Control Matrix (RACM), performance measures, and reporting requirements.
