ABOUT ASHLIE TAINER

I’m passionate about bringing people together to solve high-impact challenges. Whether it’s coordinating trainings and orientations, planning a fundraiser, or securing federal grants, I have the interpersonal and problem solving skills to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-orientated environment. I work to solve problems specifically facing our natural environment and public health by building community. I achieve this by facilitating experiential learning opportunities in the U.S. and abroad, connecting local partners with funding resources, and participating in events and workshops that build capacity and awareness around sustainability and conservation topics. I have 14 years of teaching experience in settings that vary from traditional classrooms to remote wilderness settings, and with students ranging in age from pre-K to adult. My background is in environmental studies, which has grown to include sustainable travel, service work and waste reduction. I’m versed in working with culturally diverse groups and strive to create an inclusive and equitable environment. My teaching and travel experience has fueled my existing interest to bring people together around a common goal, and supplemented my skills in outreach and recruitment. With over 10 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, I have managed contact with top-tier donors while generating donations and budget reports, creating marketing material, and organizing events such as annual galas, service trips and education festivals.
