ABOUT ASHLI FASHODA

Between the years of 2006 and 2008, Ashli co-hosted a political-based radio talk show with her younger sister titled “Time For Teens”. In 2011 she was the recipient of the 2011 Letters About Literature Award. Her award winning essay is available at The Library of Congress. In 2015, Ashli graduated from the James Madison College of Michigan State University, where she received a B.A. in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy and a minor in Spanish. While there, she was selected as a Programming Board Director for the Associated Students of Michigan State University (ASMSU) where she served from 20••••13. Later, she was selected to sit on the first Student Allocations Board for ASMSU. In 2013, she co-founded Kappa Alpha Pi, a co-ed pre-law fraternity at Michigan State University. In March 2015, she interned for Michigan ArtShare and created the Dabble program. She worked to implement various programs that promoted the fine arts in low-income areas. In 2019, Ashli received her Juris Doctorate degree from Western Michigan University Law School. As an active student leader, she became a reporter for The Pillar, a member of the Black Law Students Association, a member of the Leaders Academy, a social committee member for the Student Bar Association, and was elected as the President of the Student Bar Association in December 2016. In 2018, she also served as a student attorney for the WMU Cooley Estate Planning Clinic. As a result of her strong leadership skills she was awarded the distinguished Leadership Achievement award. In March 2016 she began her legal career as a judicial clerk at the Oakland County Circuit Court where she worked with numerous Circuit Court judges. She then began working as a legal assistant for private law firms. Now, she serves as a legal recruiter for Gpac.
