ashleywongqq.comI\'m a born and raised Singaporean creative with a deep track record in advertising, journalism, and the music business. Formerly: Apple, a16z, VICE, The Washington Post, Havas, BBC Studios, and the Russian & Turkish Baths in the East Village.At age 16 I launched my vinyl record store Wildflower Wax Co, and it moved into physical retail in 2 short years. Wildflower became one of Singapore’s most popular record stores and was spotlighted by Esquire, Singapore Art Week, Vogue, CNA Lifestyle, and more cool places. At age 20, I sold Wildflower and ended my stint at VICE, moved to Chicago and started a new life at Northwestern University. In my sophomore year, I became a writer intern on Apple’s iconic Marcom Design team, where it was hard to keep a secret about a cosmically orange iPhone.Junior year took me to Washington D.C, where I reported daily on Capitol Hill about Congress and the Trump administration, and got published in the print edition of the Washington Post for my reporting on the Virginia\'s 2025 governor\'s election. Now, I\'m at Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) on the incredible New Media team, picking up new skills and tastes as I help craft the visual language of America\'s most influential VC fund. I also run Lacking Agency, a cultural intelligence bureau with my best friend Gabs Ang, where we\'ve been doing exciting stuff for live music experiences and luxury beauty.TLDR: I love a good story and will chase one in all the ways it exists. I have a lot of interests, and I’ll certainly try anything once. Not good for LinkedIn bios, modern identity checkboxes, or the sanctity of my youth.
