As the engineering leader within National Grid’s Network Operations & Intelligence (NOI) delivery vehicle, I drive the technical vision, strategy, and architecture that underpin multiple product-engineering teams across the Planning, Portfolio, and Work Management platform and associated capabilities. My focus is on ensuring that technology, people, and process come together to deliver sustainable value at scale.I design and implement team structures within budget that balance capability, resilience, and efficiency — leveraging innovative approaches such as staff augmentation to partner with high-quality software development providers and accelerate delivery where needed. I champion observability and reliability as first-class citizens in our engineering practices, ensuring that products are built with resilience, transparency, and operational excellence from the ground up.A key part of my leadership approach is strategic hiring, coaching, and conducting regular 1-1s to foster individual growth and career development. By embedding clear standards and cultivating a culture of accountability, I enable teams to perform at their best while ensuring alignment with organisational goals.Beyond NOI, I work across other delivery vehicles to guide architecture, team formation, and product delivery, bringing under-served areas into alignment with our wider engineering strategy.
