About Ashley Jensen
Hi there! I am a senior BSN student at the University of San Francisco, anticipated to graduate in May of 2026. I’m involved in my university through the Honors College, VitalitySF Contemporary dance team, and my sorority, Tri Delta.My current role as a Patient Care Assistant in a cardiovascular thoracic step-down unit at UCSF has supplemented my nursing education immensely, allowing me to gain hands-on experience with patients widely ranging in acuity. Additionally, my experience in leadership roles, management, education, lifeguarding, and customer service has equipped me with excellent communication and leadership skills that translate to the role of a bedside nurse.I’m completing my senior preceptorship this semester in J2 Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery ICU at Stanford Health Care. I am excited to see how this highly specialized and high acuity unit will prepare me to transition into an RN role.I am passionate about providing evidence-based, culturally sensitive, compassionate patient-centered care and can’t wait to see where the world of nursing takes me!

I handle an assignment of 9-15 patients per shift on 10CVT Cardiovascular Thoracic & Transplant, a transitional care/stepdown unit at the Parnassus hospital. I assist with all activities of daily living, maintain telemetry monitoring, and work with other equipment such as suction, chest tubes, and patient handling devices. I document with APeX (Epic) and work directly with the RNs for any other tasks they may delegate to me.
