About Ashley Bennett
I have nearly twenty years of experience at the intersection of global health R&D and public health policy, mobilizing ideas, people, and political will in the service of neglected health causes. I\'ve created and implemented policy and governance solutions across the public and private sectors to address global health and development challenges, with a focus on using inclusive innovation as a way to break the cycle of poverty and poor health. The crux between existing service delivery platforms, new tech, and AI for health is where I am most at home. Most recently, I led health technology policy for Meta’s products and research. Prior to joining Meta, I worked with PATH for a decade, where I launched PATH’s Digital Health Governance portfolio and co-designed the digital health governance arm of Tanzania’s Data Use Partnership. During the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic, I co-led the development of the COVID-19 Policy Tracker with the World Health Organization, which examined and published real-time innovations in essential health services during the pandemic. I have held leadership posts and advisory roles with XPRIZE, the UHC 2030 Coalition, and the Global Health Council, the Joint Learning Network for Universal Health Coverage, and the Global Health Technologies Coalition. My functional expertise includes qualitative and ethnographic research and analysis, global health commodity regulation and introduction, policy advocacy, coalition building, and sustainable R&D financing. My research and programmatic specialties are in digital health, health system governance, sexual and reproductive health, maternal and child primary care, malaria, and diarrheal disease.
