I lead S&W\'s regional valuation practice from our new, vibrant office in Birmingham. We help companies and individuals make better decisions by improving their understanding of the value in shares, businesses and intangible assets.We provide a host of valuation services for private individuals, private companies and public entities. These include- financial reporting valuations - particularly intangible assets for UK GAAP (FRS 102), IFRS 3 and also US GAAP (ASC 805), but also valuations for fund reporting purposes- tax valuations in relation to employee incentive schemes (EMI, growth shares), restructuring or inheritance- commercial valuations - providing expert valuation support when buying or selling a business, helping agree a price for shares in the event of a dispute, or a valuation to help support a restructuring process (e.g. pre-pack administration)Recent assignments include- Purchase price allocation (IFRS 3, Business Combinations)- valuation of intangible assets within online retailer acquired by highstreet plc- Valuation of boutique law firm for incorporation (tax) purposes- Purchase price allocation (FRS 102)- valuation of contracts for power generator following acquisition by private equity- Valuation for fund reporting purposes of government-funded training provider- EMI tax valuation for online travel company- Valuation of high street retailer for restructuring purposes as part of proposed pre-pack administration
