The Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) is a nine-member body appointed by the Carroll County Board of Commissioners. Established to promote environmental stewardship, the EAC provides environmentally, socially, and economically responsible recommendations to the Board on issues relevant to Carroll County. The Council collaborates with county environmental staff to research policies, advise the Board, foster public education, and promote effective environmental protection and management principles. Key Responsibilities: • Policy Research and Advisement: Investigate environmental policy issues pertinent to Carroll County and offer informed recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners. • Public Outreach and Education: Engage with the community to raise awareness and educate residents on environmental matters, promoting sustainable practices. • Collaboration: Work closely with county environmental staff and other stakeholders to develop and implement initiatives that align with the county’s environmental goals. • Meeting Participation: Attend regular council meetings, contribute to discussions, and participate in decision-making processes.
