About Ashley Bernal

Where I am:I am the Assistant Director of Recreation and Operations at Mount Saint Mary’s University, Los Angeles. Here, I manage student employment and development and day-to-day facility operations. I am a recent graduate of the MS in Counseling Psychology Program, also at the Mount, where I completed my thesis on mixed Latine and White student identity development journeys. Where I have been: I am a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in psychology and a minor in Education. Outside of my coursework, I spent my time building skills in Advising and Mentoring, DEI, and Community Outreach and Engagement through my work at the City of Los Angeles, Department of Recreation and Parks, as a literacy mentor with BUILD, and volunteering time at the nonprofit Camp Kesem, Berkeley.Where I am going: As I progress in the field of higher education, my goals are to further involve myself in student development and mentorship through a lens of diversity, equity, and justice.
