About Ashley Turnage
I am a senior at Colorado School of Mines, studying Chemical Engineering, with a passion for the intersection between entrepreneurship and technology. My involvement with the McNeil Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation has given me valuable insight into innovation through a technological lens, as I have had the incredible opportunity to create graduate-level courses on IP and Risk and Resilience Engineering and contribute this knowledge to students as a teaching assistant for the Innov8x course. I have combined these skills with applied research in the Single Molecule Biophysics Laboratory under Dr. Susanta Sarkar with my research on collagen and insulin-receptor degradation by Matrix Metalloproteases (MMPs).My passion for innovation and energy has led me to Xcel Energy, where I am excited to gain valuable skills and knowledge through my internship this summer!
