ABOUT ASHLEY SPITSNOGLE
I am an artist painting in Main Street Studios & Art Gallery downtown Elkhorn. After graduating from Doane College in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and an Emphasis in Painting and Drawing, I traveled to Florence, Italy, where I studied painting and drawing at SACI (Studio Art Centers International Florence). After returning from Italy, I illustrated the children\'s water safety book,\"Josh the Baby Otter\" for the JCMF (Joshua Collingsworth Memorial Foundation). I have been their art director since. The book is in every state with Rotary International taking it on as a project. More than books have been distributed and 125 mascot suites made. We are also partners with Michael Phelps and his foundation. One of my favorite things to do, is paint live at events. A few I have painted at include Cattlemen’s Ball of NE, Teammates Mentoring Gala, the Heartfelt Incorporated, Lied Center for the Arts, Nebraska Bar Association, Farm Credit Services of America, Cox Communications, Josh the Otter and weddings. I have been a licensed Husker Artist since 2017, painting special memories for Husker nation, some including Johnny Rodger\'s famous punt return, Brook Berringer and Sam Foltz in \'Last Tunnel Walk\', the 92,003 record sellout for Husker Volleyball and many others. Excited for what the future brings for Husker Nation. My favorite thing to paint just to paint, is abstract. I love mixing colors on the canvas as I go, seeing what takes shape. The creative process is most fun to me.
