   My practice focuses on regulatory health care compliance matters, fraud and abuse, and reimbursement issues. I represent health care providers across the country in connection with a wide variety of health law issues including coverage disputes, documentation concerns, compliance, civil fraud investigations, medical board complaints, and revocation / exclusion / termination issues. I have worked with an assortment of providers including dentists, home health companies, hospice agencies, primary care and specialty physicians, mental health professionals, physical therapists, licensed acupuncturists, durable medical equipment, and laboratories.I have handled claims disputes with major payors including Medicare, Medicaid, various BlueCross BlueShield entities, and UnitedHealthcare. I have extensive experience working on administrative appeals of large alleged extrapolated overpayments assessed by CMS\'s program integrity contractors-primarily UPICs. I also represent providers and suppliers in connection with CERT audits, SMRC reviews and MAC \"Targeted Probe and Educate\"(TPE) reviews. I also have extensive experience representing health care clients in connection with private payor audits and investigations by private payor SIUs. In addition, I have successfully defended providers in connection with Medicare revocations and against medical board and nursing board complaints. Finally, I also have extensive experience representing providers in connection with state and federal fraud investigations.I am also a Certified Medical Compliance Officer and help clients implement effective compliance programs and provide counsel on mandatory state and industry-specific policies and procedures. I am also a Certified Professional Coder in addition to a Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist and conduct GAP Analyses of provider’s medical record documentation to determine areas for improvement with any CMS or private payor documentation requirements.
