ABOUT ASHLEY MIRELES-GUERRERO
Ashley Marie Mireles-Guerrero is a lifelong book person with nearly a decade of experience in publishing across acquisitions, sales, and marketing. They are the author of more than a dozen published titles, including 100 First Words for Little Californians, the bilingual Proud to Be Latino: Food/Comida, and several books in the ABC Primer Series from Familius. Ashley currently serves on the IBPA Governance Committee, following their tenure on the organization’s Board of Directors.In 2023, frustrated by the lack of independent bookstores in their hometown of Fresno, CA, Ashley co-founded Judging by the Cover: A Bookstore—a BIPOC and Queer-owned space dedicated to centering historically marginalized authors and publishers. As an independent bookseller, they are a member of the American Booksellers Association and serve on its Bookseller Advisory Committee.Recognized as a 2022 Publishers Weekly Star Watch Finalist and a 2024 BookCamp Forty Under 40 in Publishing Nominee, Ashley continues to shape the future of publishing through advocacy for an industry that is equitable, welcoming, and accessible to all. They live in Fresno, CA, with their partner and two beloved rescue dogs.
