About Ashley Lynn Olson
A current Auburn University student passionately interning with the Investigations Unit at LCSO while maintaining a serving position at the finest seafood restaurant in Auburn. The hands on experience I have gained while working with the Investigators will be carried with me through the rest of my life. I have always been a strong communicator, a team player, very flexible in the work place and empathetic but this internship has strengthened those skills even more while also adding new ones. I have been pushed outside of my comfort zone daily, matured while working on serious cases, forced to think creatively on how to solve each problem and been blessed with the opportunity to put my professionalism to the test with every new person we encounter. It is the most unique job that is challenging mentally, physically and emotionally. I also love my community and am focused on giving back to them, so I am very active in different volunteer groups outside of the University while also being present in organizations on campus also. I am currently the Vice President of Campus for Beat Bama Food Drive which allows us to volunteer countless hours at the food bank of East Alabama and the food market while competing against the University of Alabama to raise money, cans and awareness for food insecurity on Auburn University\'s campus. I also have the opportunity to lead as a younglife leader at Lee Scott Academy High School. This allows me to guide a group of high school girls through their years in high school and mentor them through all the craziness that the teenage years bring. They teach me how to open my perspective, how to love unconditionally, how to maintain optimism and how to relax when needed. My experiences while attending Auburn University are far from normal. Leaving behind the safety and beauty of Newport Beach, California, I ventured into the southern world and decided to make the most of these 4 years. Making the most of these years to me meant getting involved, giving back, experiencing life in the south and doing the best that I can do to make this town better than when I first arrived. I am beyond grateful for the experience that all these different organizations and occupations have provided me and in all the ways that I have grown while being apart of each one.
