About Ashley Lin
I am a Fellow at Necessary Ventures, a pre-seed to Series A/B fund investing in impactful technologies. As a Fellow, I scout for and conduct due diligence on primarily biotech, MedTech, and HealthTech companies. I also serve as a Co-Director of Strategy & Operations at Nucleate for the Global Virtual Activator program, where I lead sourcing for companies in the bio track and manage cohort engagement. I graduated from Cornell University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences and Chemistry, where I won national awards in Parliamentary Debate. My experience in scientific research covers both industry and academia. Recently, I was a Research Associate in Protein Chemistry at Vir Biotechnology. Prior to Vir, I worked at Esper Biosciences (backed by Cornell\'s biotech incubator), Moderna, Academia Sinica in Taiwan, and academic labs at Cornell. My research areas were mostly on infectious diseases (COVID-19, RSV/MPV, Flu, MERS, Hepatitis C), and I also had experience in oncology and Cystic Fibrosis. I am also familiar with computational software such as PyMOL and PSILO and have experience in grant writing. I am passionate about leveraging my scientific and investment skills to advance innovation and solutions that can improve health outcomes and access for underserved populations. I am also actively looking for full-time work positions that cover the intersection of science and business, and am always open to discussion as I move towards the next stage of my career. Born in Los Angeles and raised in Taiwan, I am native in Chinese and Taiwanese Hokkien and am also fluent in Spanish. With these diverse experiences, I bring cross-cultural communication skills and a global perspective.
