About Ashley Hulsey
Results-focused senior resource development executive with 30+ years of success creating and executing comprehensive development programs in complex organizations. Recently retired from full-time work and enjoying consulting projects that advance social and economic impact for lower-income people. Fearless fundraiser. Expertise mobilizing significant resources from savvy individuals, companies, foundations and the public sector. Experience leading both small and large teams. Strategic planning and case development for new offerings, tapping new markets and preparing organizations and teams for more ambitious results are my favorite activities. Works closely with C-Suite and volunteer leaders. Team leader and player who keeps people on track, builds strong relationships, closes principal gifts and multi-tasks with grace, warmth and efficiency. Current clients include Community Volunteers in Medicine (PA) and Metro IAF (NY). Open to hearing about your organization\'s needs. Would consider \"un-retiring\" for the right leadership position.
Experience
Principal Consultant
Jul 2022 — Present · Philadelphia, PA, US
I recently named my fundraising consultancy True Development because there are paths towards high-impact results and then there are paths that fade away. I focus on the former and bring 30+ years of experience and results to organizations of all sizes. Truth-telling is my nature. I write compelling case statements, quickly, and succinct grant proposals that get funded. Interim CDO positions, coaching development staff and all things campaign are currently my favorite ways of contributing to the fundraising impact of my clients. A few of the organizations I have helped between 2022 and now: The Reinvestment Fund, Community Volunteers in Medicine, Metro IAF (Industrial Areas Foundation), Reconstructing Judaism. When I am not consulting, I volunteer (Red Cross disaster deployment, Penn Medicine Hospice Volunteer, MANNA driver), travel (most recently Egypt, Namibia, Botswana and South Africa), read (fiction, memoir, sociology) and host dinner guests.
