ABOUT ASHLEY GILL

I am a fourth-year Business Management (Law & Business) student at the Ted Rogers School of Management, with academic interests focused on law, public policy, governance, and institutional decision-making. I am also pursuing minors in Criminology, Public Administration, and Sociology, which shape my interdisciplinary approach to understanding how legal, social, and administrative systems affect individuals and communities.My experience includes working as a Research Assistant at the CMIC Lab, where I supported interdisciplinary research examining the intersections of business, human behaviour, and society. In this role, I developed strong competencies in qualitative and quantitative research methods, data analysis, synthesis of complex information, and analytical writing, while contributing to evidence-based research used to inform organizational and policy-relevant insights.In addition to my research experience, I have worked with CDEV, where I gained hands-on exposure to public-sector processes, administrative research, and policy-oriented work. Through this role, I strengthened my ability to analyze regulatory and governance-related materials, support internal research and reporting, and engage with issues related to transparency, accountability, and public administration. This experience further reinforced my interest in how government institutions operate in practice and how policy decisions are implemented within administrative frameworks.Academically and professionally, I am driven by questions of governance, justice, accountability, and the role of institutions in shaping social and economic outcomes. I am particularly interested in work that bridges research, legal reasoning, and policy analysis, and I value approaches that are methodologically rigorous, ethically grounded, and socially responsive.Following the completion of my undergraduate studies, I plan to pursue law school and seek opportunities that allow me to further develop my skills in research, analysis, and problem-solving within legal, policy, and public-interest contexts.Always open to connecting with students and professionals working in law, public policy, research, and governance.
