About Ashley Cox

Ashley believes that economic, environmental and social resiliency begins with the empowerment of the self in service to the betterment of the collective. Her approach blends planning with education, setting the table for a range of stakeholders to be engaged in a number of project types, from the design of neighborhood commercial spaces to consulting on urban systems.As an urban designer with evolveEA, Ashley’s capacity to connect technical information to the lived experience has contributed to a number of award winning community development plans, such as the Centre Avenue Corridor Redevelopment & Design Plan for the Hill District in Pittsburgh. She also consults on community based projects like the Living Waters of Larimer, where her expertise in mapping and stakeholder engagement helped shape urban watershed systems while supporting community desires such as urban agriculture, public art and green infrastructure.Ashley’s previous work at a program management firm polished her skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team designing Research Labs, University Campuses and K-12 School Campuses. She has served as a volunteer for initiatives like the National Organization of Minority Architects Career Exploration Camp for Underprivileged Youth and Carnegie Mellon University’s Architecture Exploration Camp for Kids. Ashley holds a Bachelor’s of Architecture degree from Howard University, has studied urban design in Barcelona and has also earned a Master of Urban Design from Carnegie Mellon University.
