M.A. to a top spine surgeon in the DFW. I am the only M.A. to my doctor and P.A. We see about 30 pts a day. I am responsible for rooming patients, getting vitals, ordering physical therapy, ordering any imaging, filling out FMLA paperwork, scribing, making phone calls, indexing reports and clinical notes into patient charts, helping patients understand what to expect after surgery/during surgery. As a former patient of the doctor I work for I get to give testimony of how wonderful he really is. My patients have a sense of peace getting to ask me about my experience with my doctor. I can say I have so many patients tell my company and doctor, if it wasn’t for me they wouldn’t be having surgery. It gives me so much joy getting to be apart of a major decision for them.
