ABOUT ASHLEY BASTIN
I am a fourth year PhD candidate at The George Washington University in Washington, DC studying molecular immunology and virology related to HIV infection and its mechanisms of pathogenesis. Through a combination of scientific writing skills and molecular biology benchwork, I have contributed meaningful publications to the fields of immunology, parasitology, and virology. I have experience in the federal laboratory setting, working with organizations such as the National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center, and I am interested in a career in research investigating host-pathogen interactions and disease pathogenesis, especially as it pertains to virology in a biodefense context.
