As a Youth Leader at a HAF summer programme, I am responsible for delivering a variety of fun and educational activities to children aged 6–11. I play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming environment where children could engage in games, arts and crafts, sports, and other enrichment activities. I support individual needs, encouraged positive social interaction, and help promote the health and wellbeing objectives of the HAF initiative. My role also involves supervising mealtimes, supporting behaviour management, and working closely with colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

I am a BSc Education and Psychology YiE student at the University of Southampton, currently undertaking a Year in Employment to develop my professional experience in youth work, education outreach, and wellbeing support. My work is rooted in empathy, inclusion, and a genuine commitment to helping young people thrive.My experience includes roles across educational, community, and retail settings. I currently serve as a Youth Leader for Personal Best Education, delivering activities that support the development, creativity, and wellbeing of children aged 6–11 through the government-funded HAF programme. I am trained in Safeguarding, First Aid, and Food Hygiene, and work to ensure every child feels safe, included, and supported.Within the University of Southampton, I’m actively involved in outreach and student engagement. I work with the Widening Participation and Social Mobility Team and as a Student Ambassador, helping to deliver events, campus tours, and school visits that widen access to higher education. These roles have strengthened my communication, teamwork, and strategic planning skills — alongside my passion for social equity.As the Welfare Officer for the Jazz Dance Society, I support member wellbeing, promote inclusive practices, and lead initiatives around mental health and accessibility. I’ve also volunteered with Branch Up (Southampton Hub), delivering enrichment activities to children from disadvantaged backgrounds and creating opportunities for personal growth.My retail background, including a leadership role as Shift Manager at Onestop Stores, has sharpened my ability to lead under pressure, deliver excellent customer experience, and manage operational tasks like cash reconciliation, stock control, and team supervision.I’m certified in- First Aid Essentials - Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid- Level 2 Counselling SkillsWith a compassionate mindset, inclusive values, and a strong drive to create meaningful change, I am building a career that combines education, mental health, and community support to empower young people to reach their full potential. My long-term goal is to train as an Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) and eventually become an Educational Psychologist. I am passionate about supporting the mental health and learning needs of young people by creating accessible, compassionate pathways for those facing emotional and educational challenges.
