As Head of Responsible AI (India) at Infosys, my focus is on shaping how organizations build and adopt trustworthy, ethical, and human-centric AI. This role bridges policy, governance, and technology, ensuring that innovation not only drives business value but also aligns with societal trust and global standards. At Infosys, our Responsible AI team has been at the forefront of this mission, playing a pivotal role in securing the ISO/IEC 42001 certification — the world’s first international standard for AI management systems. This milestone reflects India’s growing leadership in Responsible AI and a collective commitment to building scalable, safe, and inclusive AI solutions. Beyond Infosys, I contribute to global AI governance conversations, including the NIST (National Institute of Standards & Technology) working group on Generative AI Risk Management Framework, alongside other multilateral initiatives. These engagements provide an opportunity to position India as a key voice in shaping the global AI order, balancing innovation with responsibility. My journey has always been about using technology and data for meaningful impact — from developing governance frameworks for enterprises and governments to earlier ventures in entrepreneurship, such as founding Touritor, an e-commerce travel platform. Looking ahead, I remain deeply committed to ensuring that as India harnesses AI for growth and transformation, it does so in a way that is responsible, inclusive, and globally relevant.
