ABOUT ASHIMA OBHAN

Ashima Obhan heads the Corporate and M&A practice at Obhan Mason and co-chairs the TMT practice at the Firm. Ashima has extensive experience of corporate, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions, including domestic and cross border deals involving assets or share sales, option arrangements, international joint venture transactions and group re-organisations. Ashima represents both sellers and buyers in complex transactions in various business sectors. She has advised various multinational corporations and private equity funds in relation to foreign investment into India, obtaining the requisite regulatory approvals, drafting the transaction documentation and providing all corporate and foreign exchange related advise. She has advised clients across a number of sectors with a specific focus on real estate, media, education and information technology sectors.Ashima has been instrumental in establishing the TMT practise at the Firm and advises some of the leading media and publishing houses. She has also been advising clients on various data protection and privacy issues and has co-authored a book on the impact of the EU GDPR on Indian businesses. Ashima is a member of the Bar Council of Delhi. She is the author or co-author of several articles, specifically on commercial contract issues, M&A and TMT.
