Experience
Director of Learning Impact
Aug 2025 — Present · Austin, TX, US
I lead strategic initiatives to foster student and adult ownership of learning by designing, implementing, and overseeing robust, learner-centered systems. My primary focus is maximizing educational impact through two critical functions:1. Learner-Centered System Development: I direct the creation and management of key systems—including learner profiles, portfolios, and exhibitions of learning—to ensure they are fully integrated into instructional practices and align with the District’s Graduate Profile and strategic plan. I collaborate closely with leadership and instructional teams to design professional development and leverage the student data warehouse to support these systems and inform instruction. I also lead efforts in marketing and communication to promote widespread engagement with these tools.2. Assessment and Data Strategy: I provide comprehensive leadership for all state and federal assessment processes, serving as the official district spokesperson to the TEA. This includes directing test administration, ensuring compliance with all Texas laws, and managing required reporting. Crucially, I lead the analysis of assessment data to inform instructional decisions and drive continuous improvement. I champion data literacy efforts, presenting complex data to leadership, the School Board, parents, and students to align outcomes with district improvement plans.I manage the departmental budget, monitor legislative processes for potential impact, and hire/supervise a high-performing team to ensure effectiveness and achieve strategic goals.
