About Asha M. Ragin

I am working as a psychologist and Clinical Director at Trinity Boston Counseling Center of the Trinity Boston Connects. Here I help to create a cohesive clinical approach and best practices for TBC\'s provision of clinical care and support for TBC programming, especially for TBCC\'s community-based contracts. As Clinical Director I oversee the quality of clinical work, TBC\'s clinical internship & practicum training program, provide supervision for staff and/or trainees, and maintain an individual therapy caseload. I have experience in working with children, adolescents, adults and families who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, and chronic mental illness. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, and bereavement/grief & loss, especially within the context of cultural, spiritual/religious identity and other related factors. I also work with individuals with a history of substance abuse who have maintained at least a year of sobriety. My therapeutic approach integrates psychodynamic, interpersonal, cognitive-behavioral, DBT/mindfulness, and multi-cultural therapies. Art therapy is also often incorporated in my clinical work and therapeutic approach. I have provided consultation and outreach to religious and faith communities. For example, I collaborated with other mental health professionals and pastoral staff in servicing the needs of a congregation that lost a member to suicide. Specialties: Art therapy (individual and group), Grief and Loss/Bereavement therapy cultural/diversity issues psychology of religion, theology, and spirituality liturgical dance and worship arts theology http://therapists.psychologytoday.com/rms/184652
