About Ashan Wettasinghe
I am a results-driven, team-oriented research and development scientist with 7 years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams on electrochemical DNA biosensors. During my PhD, I specialized in utilizing these biosensors for biophysical characterization of macromolecules and their interactions. My work provided insights into the mechanisms of DNA-damaging anticancer drugs, dsDNA unwinding by helicase enzymes, and the actuation of DNA nanowires. Additionally, I partnered with data science teams to automate analog signal processing of electrochemical devices.Also I bring 7 years of expertise in electrode fabrication using photolithography and E-beam PVD, as well as nanoprobe synthesis, purification and characterization using HPLC, UV-Vis, and MALDI-TOF. Beyond research, I have trained over 400 individuals in physical measurements, material characterization, data analysis, and technical report writing, showcasing my commitment to knowledge sharing and professional development.

Over the past few years on average over students have signed up each year from 60-80 countries, ranging from high school students to retirees and everything in between.
