About Asha Shekaran
Dr Asha Shekaran is a research & data science professional with over 13 years of international research & innovation experience in tech & biomedicine. Asha is a quantitative UX researcher at Google. Asha was previously an early employee at AI/ genomics drug discovery company Engine Biosciences. There her work focused on the combined high throughput biology & data analytics platform and led applications of the platform in internal oncology efforts, as well as in an engagement with a Fortune 500 company. For her contributions and their impact on the company’s successful US$10M seed round, she received the T-UP Excellence Award in 2019. Prior to joining Engine Bio, Asha directed & executed research on stem cell therapy bioprocessing at the Bioprocessing Technology Institute, A*STAR. Asha holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University School of Medicine. She graduated Magna cum Laude from Northwestern University with a B.S. and was the recipient of the prestigious A*STAR BS-PhD National Science Scholarships.
