I get particularly excited when I have the opportunity to bring people together—through food, through love, and through systems that can actually change lives.As Executive Director of A Better Life Foundation, I lead initiatives that use food as a tool to build dignity, deepen community, and push for justice. Our work provides thousands of chef-driven meals every week to residents across Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside and more recently my hometown of Halifax, with a growing focus on Indigenous youth empowerment, food sovereignty, and community-led healing. We tap into the cultural significance of food as the conduit to connection, visibility, and hope.Beyond ABLF, I sit on the boards of Persephone Brewing, a B Corp certified brewery using beer and agriculture to drive sustainability and inclusion. I’m also actively engaged in policy and systems change through Hastings Crossing BIA and BC’s President’s Group, where I advocate for employment equity, inclusive hiring, and better futures for employees with disabilities.I\'m a lifelong lover of music, culture, and the stories that shape us. I started in live music and hospitality and the spaces where people feel seen, celebrated, and connected mean a lot to me. Shared experiences have the power to shift hearts, build movements and shape the human experience.Our organization has been built on collaboration - traditional and unconventional. Our foundation has taken an entrepreneurial approach to growth and innovation. I passionately advocate for a society that sees true equity and a vision where there is abundance for all.
