About Asa Marokus
I am a private practice psychiatrist and psychotherapist, as well as an early investor in blockchain, digital asset and cryptocurrency projects. I completed medical school and training at the University of Colorado, worked in private equity for Hellman & Friedman and investment banking for Goldman Sachs, after graduating from Dartmouth College with honors.I have found that nothing professionally compares to the importance and meaning I experience in working with children, teenagers, adults and their families to help them with personal challenges. I employ both psychotherapy and medication to improve the functioning and happiness and alleviate the suffering of my patients. I am a generalist, meaning that I enjoy, and have experience, working with many different types of people on a wide range of issues including struggles with relationships, career, and the vicissitudes of life.On the investing side, I developed an early interest in digital assets, cryptocurrency and blockchain because of their ability to influence change on a larger scale than I can as a private practice psychiatrist. I am committed to the potential for these technologies to improve our world and its people fundamentally based on the shared ideals of transparency, power of ideas, importance of personal autonomy, and strength of community.
