WORK HISTORY
Researcher (Experimental Rig Design) @School Of Built Environment - Massey University
Auckland, NZ
Experimental Development: Designed and commissioned experimental rigs (thermal hotboxes, flow-control devices) using CNC machining and 3D printing, applying DFMA principles. Thermal Analysis & Standards: Executed heat transfer experiments on complex building elements, aligned with ISO/ASTM standards. Design of Experiments (DoE): Applied structured planning and analysis strategies to enhance reliability and reproducibility. Simulation & Modeling: Conducted CFD (ANSYS Fluent), thermal/structural FEA (ANSYS Mechanical), and energy modeling (EnergyPlus, THERM). Utilized R/Biblioshiny for thematic data mapping. Sustainability Research: Contributed to UN SDGs and Massey University’s Strategic Plan (2022–2027) through peer-reviewed publications targeting sustainable infrastructure. Collaborative Projects: Worked with RMIT, BRANZ, and Callaghan Innovation on energy-efficiency initiatives promoting inclusion and interdisciplinary teamwork. Knowledge Systems: Developed systematic frameworks for knowledge discovery and mentored over 15 postgrad scholars in advanced research methods. Grants & Recognition: Awarded Massey Peer Scholar Award (2025) and secured NZD research grant (2023–ongoing) for concrete thermal performance studies in NZ climates. Workshop Coordination: Organised and managed Two Mega Conferences 46th AUBEA 2023 and EPPM 2023, doctoral workshops, ensuring scheduling efficiency and adherence to safety protocols Migration & Energy funded project: Leading ongoing research on the nexus between international migration and energy consumption patterns.

SKILLS
ABOUT ASAD BAJWA
I deliver mechanical and thermo-fluid engineering solutions for the built environment in New Zealand. My experience spans over 10 years in HVAC design, ventilation systems, and energy-efficient product development. I am currently completing my pathway toward registration. My technical approach focuses on clarity and rigour. I have supervised cross-functional teams of five professionals to deliver project roadmaps on time and within budget. This includes managing data-intensive solutions and building performance assessments. I prioritize practical results that align with the Building Act and the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA).I have a strong background in outcome-based education and graduate mentoring. I enjoy simplifying complex engineering problems into manageable, implementable units for both students and industry stakeholders.Ngā mihi, let’s connect to discuss sustainability-led engineering or mechanical design opportunities.
