About Aryan Singh
Hi!I’m a cybersecurity student at Purdue University with hands-on experience across network security, security operations, incident response, detection engineering, and offensive security, spanning both enterprise and academic environments.I’ve monitored and responded to real-world threats across customer environments as a Security Analyst Intern at ReliaQuest, working extensively with SIEM and EDR platforms including Splunk, IBM QRadar, LogRhythm, Google Chronicle, CrowdStrike Falcon, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, and VMware Carbon Black. My work focused on alert triage, incident containment, root-cause analysis, and delivering actionable remediation guidance. I’ve also contributed to YARA-based detection engineering, enhanced with agentic AI to improve threat visibility and accelerate response to high-severity incidents. In parallel, I serve as a SOC Analyst at Purdue University, supporting environments used by students and staff. My role includes monitoring security telemetry, responding to daily incidents, managing access controls, and supporting email and endpoint security operations using Splunk, Microsoft Defender, and Cisco Secure Endpoint, aligned with NIST-based security practices.Alongside defensive operations, I actively build networking and cloud connectivity expertise through hands-on labs and independent projects where I reproduced real-world offline scenarios caused by DNS failures, firewall egress blocks, TLS handshake issues, and MTU mismatches, using packet captures and connection tracing to root-cause failures. I’m particularly interested in how networking, reliability, and security intersect in large-scale distributed systems.I also pursue offensive security through CTF competitions, penetration testing labs, and independent research. I hold the Certified Red Team Operator (CRTO) and eJPT certifications, have competed nationally in the National Cyber League, ranked highly on TryHackMe, completed advanced Hack The Box labs, and discovered two stored XSS zero-day vulnerabilities (CVEs) in an open-source CMS.I am an international student and am particularly interested in opportunities with organizations open to hiring international candidates for roles in Network Engineering, Security Engineering, Detection & Response, Incident Response, or Red Teams, especially where deep networking and systems understanding is valued.
