About Aryan Arbabi
I\'m currently leading Nuro\'s LAMBDA project, where we develop Multimodal LLMs to act as reasoning engines of autonomous vehicles. These models have the potential to transform the way AVs plan and make decisions, due to their remarkable ability in handling uncommon road situations (long tails).Prior to this I worked on various projects related to ML-based AV planning and prediction. These included developing a new transformer-based architecture that has become the backbone of Nuro\'s planning and prediction models, developing models for conditional prediction, and active learning. Before entering the AV/Robotics domain, I was a PhD student at University of Toronto, where my research looked at how machine learning, language understanding, and knowledge graphs can come together to facilitate medical diagnosis.
