ABOUT ARYAMAN SRIVASTAVA

As a Politics and International Relations undergraduate at University College London (UCL), I am passionate about how global institutions uphold peace, accountability, and human rights amid rising geopolitical instability. My academic training and diverse experiences across human rights advocacy, risk analysis, and multilateral policy have shaped me into a globally aware and impact-driven individual.Working with Global Human Rights Defence has been instrumental in shaping my understanding of multilateral processes. Contributing to written and oral statements for UN Human Rights Council sessions taught me how human rights issues are framed, contested, and negotiated in international arenas. It also enabled me to distil complex issues into policy-relevant language and sharpened my policy writing, institutional analysis, and strategic communication skills.My work with the European Student Think Tank and Migration Youth & Children Platform has further deepened this awareness. Engaging in research on security and defence policy and chairing a task force for the UN Special Rapporteur on Minority Issues exposed me to the real gaps in international justice, particularly how underrepresented communities and politically sensitive issues are often sidelined. These experiences have strengthened my ability to engage critically with power structures and advocate for more inclusive, responsive governance.Relatedly, my research assistantships at UCL ChangeMakers and UCL connect.ed, alongside a research paper I published with the Bentham Brooks Institute, have reinforced my ability to conduct applied, qualitative and quantitative research across diverse issue areas ranging from political expression at UCL to post-Soviet governance and democratic resilience in Africa.Through these roles, I’ve developed as a leader and collaborator. At Global Weekly, I progressed from Editor to Research Manager, overseeing editorial standards and research quality. I’ve also chaired UN submissions, led research teams, and mentored new contributors, experiences that have shaped my ability to work across diverse perspectives, manage fast-paced workflows, and foster a shared sense of purpose in issue-driven environments.I bring to the table a blend of applied research experience, leadership, and a strong commitment to multilateral cooperation. I\'m particularly interested in opportunities within international organisations, think tanks, INGOs, and geopolitical risk advisory, where I aspire to contribute to building more informed, accountable, and inclusive global governance systems.
