Named after the legendary fictional scientist Prof. Shonku, from Satyajit Ray’s books, the team builds the scientific backbone for Alt — from geochemistry, to biochar reactor engineering, MRV, and isotope analysis- Contributing to Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) projects at Alt Carbon, driving large-scale carbon sequestration initiatives from field deployment to geochemical monitoring in the Himalayan Foothills- Advanced geochemical instrumentation: Ion Chromatography (IC), ICP-OES, Mass Spectrometry (MC-ICP-MS, IRMS), and CHNS analyzer, ensuring high-precision elemental and isotopic measurements- Implementing geochemical proxies in soil, porewater, groundwater and river water to design and execute sampling protocols, lab workflows, and data interpretation for MRV in carbon credit frameworks- Applying multi-proxy geochemical datasets (cations, anions, isotopes, trace metals) with modeling tools to quantify carbonate dissolution, bicarbonate export, and net carbon dioxide removal in subtropical ERW field trials.
