ABOUT ARVIND BHATT

Dr. Arvind Kumar Bhatt has outstanding Academic background in Biological Sciences with experience of working in R&D Institute, Industry, State Govt. and Universities. He started his research career by working in the area of Industrial Microbiology/ Enzyme Technology, utility of microbes/enzymes in industrial processes like biofuels, paper and dairy industry and biochemicals and the results are being utilized at Industrial scale. Earlier, Dr. Bhatt has successfully headed the Industrial Biotechnology Division with HP Govt. for > 9 yrs and advised the State Govt. on policy matters on Biotechnology, S&T. He has also worked with Brauerie Beck & Co, Bremen-Germany (Him Neel Breweries Ltd,) as Head-QC & Env. and obtained advanced professional training\'s at GBF, Germany, IARI-New Delhi, BITS-Pilani and CFTRI-Mysore. He was also Coordinator of University Institute of Information Technology (UIIT), and Director, Institute of Integrated Himalayan Studies (IIHS), UGC Centre of Excellence at HP University. Presently Dr. Bhatt is serving as Professor & Head, Deptt. of Biotechnology in HP University, Shimla and guiding Master’s, M. Phil. and Ph. D. students. He is also Nodal Officer of Biotechnology Incubation sanctioned by Govt. of Himachal under Chief Minister\'s Start-up Scheme. He is also serving as Dean Planning & Teachers Matters in HP University where the entire planning of University activities, budget planning, allocation and monitoring is involved. He is also Member of the Task Force Committee of Deptt. of Biotechnology, Govt. of India of Biotechnology Based Programme for Rural Development and SC/ST population, Member State Level Task Force on Industrial Biotechnology of Govt. of HP, Panel of examiners of several Universities, Member/Life Member/ Honorary Member of several professional /scientific organizations, on the Editorial Board of several Scientific Journals of repute besides others. He has been the Consultant - ICIMOD Nepal (19••••95), Nanobiosym USA, Coordinator UIIT, HPU, Technical Advisor to Industries (Food, Biofuel & Paper), Coordinator-Env. Cell, IQAC – HPU, Shimla, Secretary-Association of Biotechnologists of HP, Gold Medalist in University (M. Sc, M. Phil.), CSIR- JRF, SRF, RA, Scientist Poolship - CSIR, Post Doc. Dr. Arvind Kumar Bhatt has more than 70 research papers to his credit published in Scientific Journals of repute and has presented more than 90 research papers in several National/International Conferences /workshops/ seminars within India and abroad and is guiding students for Masters, M.Phil. and Ph. D. Degrees.
