About Arvian Harper
I’m an educational leader, wellness advocate, and creative entrepreneur dedicated to building inclusive systems where Black and Brown communities can thrive. My work bridges education, mental wellness, culture, and innovation—infused with a deep commitment to equity, joy, and authentic connection. As COO of the Sims-Fayola Foundation, I lead strategic operations and programmatic initiatives that support boys of color in realizing their full potential. From mentoring and career exploration to mental health services and systemic advocacy, our work is rooted in awareness, capacity-building, and equity by design. Through my consulting firm, ALH Educational Consulting, I partner with schools and youth-serving organizations to provide wellness-centered instructional coaching, professional development, and leadership support. My focus: cultivating restorative learning environments, emotionally intelligent educators, and culturally responsive systems. I’m also the founder of Awakening Café—a mobile espresso bar and bookshop that celebrates Black literature, artistry, and culture. We serve more than just coffee; we create spaces that nourish the soul, amplify Black voices, and reimagine what representation looks like in the specialty coffee world. My approach is collaborative, values-driven, and grounded in the belief that real transformation happens at the intersection of care, culture, and community.
