About Marshal Arup Raha

Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha, as the Chief of Air Staff of the Indian Air Force, had been at the center of several policy-level initiatives on military capabilities and diplomatic role of the defence services. Also, as the Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee, a post occupied by India’s senior-most armed foces officer, he ensured jointmanship in the armed forces. He served as the Directing Staff at two premier institutes of Indian Air Force. He was deputed as the Defence Attache in the Embassy of India, Kiev to drive bilateral military and defence relations between India and Ukraine. He has the rare distinction of being the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of two Operational Commands i.e. Central Air Command and Western Air Command. For his distinguished service, he has been awarded Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and Vayu Sena Medal. He was also appointed as Honourary Aide De Camp to the Hon\'ble President of India.Currently, Air Chief Marshal Raha is the Chancellor of Assam University. He also delivers keynote addresses as guest speaker at various forums on leadership, statecraft, international relations, defence, aerospace, business, and entrepreneurship. He has been conferred honorary D.Litt. degree by the state-run SKB University.
