I am a Medicinal and Synthetic Organic Chemist with over fifteen years of experience in pharmaceutical research and development, dedicated to new drug discovery and small-molecule innovation across multiple therapeutic areas.Currently, I serve as Director – Chemistry at TCG Lifesciences Pvt. Ltd, Kolkata, where I lead multidisciplinary discovery teams focused on the design, synthesis, and optimization of small molecules in collaboration with leading global pharmaceutical and biotech partners.My scientific journey has been driven by curiosity and precision, spanning heterocyclic and asymmetric synthesis, complex multistep route design, and structure–activity relationship (SAR)–based lead optimization. Over the years, I have contributed to several innovation-driven programs and authored several peer-reviewed publications and patents.I earned my M.Sc. in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur and my Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Hyderabad, followed by postdoctoral research at Purdue University and the University of California, Santa Barbara (USA).I’m passionate about transforming chemical ideas into real-world therapeutic solutions, mentoring young scientists, and building research collaborations that bridge academia and industry.
