As the founder of EcoCollab, I was brought on board to strategize and lead the vision for Solar Decathlon India team from BMSSA and BMSIT. I mentor students for Architectural Design and Technical Presentation subjects. ABOUT ARUNDHATI SETT
With over two decades of experience as a Sustainability Building Architect, I have successfully executed numerous projects across institutional, industrial, commercial, and residential sectors. This extensive background has given me a deep understanding of the gaps in delivering sustainable buildings. Motivated by this insight, I founded EcoCollab, a vibrant platform dedicated to offering sustainable services (like ESG, LCA and green building certification) and products to support eco-friendly design, construction, and research.Before starting my own practice, I served as the Program Manager for the Hilti Foundation-funded Housing for All program at Ashoka. My main role was to coordinate stakeholders and identify barriers to affordable housing in India. This collaborative effort led to the development of a robust framework for the \"Housing for All\" initiative, paving the way for more affordable and sustainable living solutions. Additionally, I was the urban designer for a road safety non-profit organization, where I set primary research survey criteria, data collection, documentation and designed innovative solutions to address traffic choke points at the urban ward level.Prior to moving to India, I worked with leading Bay Area firms on school and community college projects in California, USA. During this time, I managed projects ranging from to $500 million, applying my expertise in master planning, project cost estimation, specification approval, documentation, creating \"good for construction\" drawings, and coordinating seamlessly with various consultants.This diverse experience has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to tackle the complex challenges of sustainable building design and construction, ensuring that my work consistently delivers tangible results for the companies I work with and the communities I serve.
