As a Science Mentor with Headwaters Science Institute, I guide students through hands-on, student-driven research projects—helping them develop testable questions, create hypotheses, plan methods, collect and analyze data, and communicate their results. I also lead engaging science activities, nature games, and group discussions designed to spark curiosity and promote critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving. My role involves ensuring student safety, maintaining field equipment, and fostering a deep appreciation for science and the natural world. Through this experience, I help inspire the next generation of STEM thinkers while modeling respect for the environment and the scientific process.
