As a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Precision Agriculture Technologies and Data Management Lab at VT’s Tidewater AREC, I will be engaged in cutting-edge research aimed at advancing digital agriculture. The position focuses on integrating Remote Sensing (Ground, Aerial, and Satellite-based) and GIS with non-destructive sensing of crop physiology, abiotic/biotic stress detection, and machine/deep learning-based modeling.Key responsibilities include-Collecting and analyzing sensor and ground-truth data-Applying AI/ML-driven data analytics in crop intelligence-Developing smartphone and web-based applications for agricultural decision support-Publishing high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals and presenting findings at national/international conferences-Collaborating in a multidisciplinary research environment and contributing to competitive research proposals and technical reports.This position supports the broader goal of developing data-driven, intelligent systems for precision crop management and sustainable agricultural practices.
