Arun focuses on developing of new customer centric clean energy and digital solutions that are developed with disruptive technology and business models to enhance wide scale adoption. Key verticals include smart homes, smart cities, electric vehicles, distributed energy resources and energy efficiency. Key recent projects include development of technology, go-to-market strategy and product road map for over millions of field connected IoT (Internet of Things) in smart home / smart utility use cases, and investigation of AI / ML (Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning) use cases for electric distribution infrastructure and smart asset management. He also oversaw implementation of REV Demonstration projects in smart city, customer engagement and demand response from behavioral programs using AMI data and smart devices, development of new utility offerings in Community Microgrids, Distributed Services Platform, Community Solar and Geothermal and Electric and Gas Demand response projects. He also supports venture capital teams on identifying high growth start up companies. Prior to National Grid, Arun started up NY Energy Manager at NYPA, the big data platform supporting real time telemetry data from meters and sensors in thousands of government buildings and established the first of its kind Network Operations Center dedicated to real time building energy management. He also served as technical leader in several award winning projects including $5 Billion semiconductor-chip plant and has trained over 800 building design professionals and code officials.
