About Arunchandar Vasan
My current research interests are in real-time decision making for infrastructure cyber-physical systems. My team and I broadly work on problems in energy and mobility. Some examples include building energy management; renewables; airline operations; and electric vehicles. Using models or twins, we design control algorithms/agents that optimize and/or learn for efficient operations. Modelling techniques we\'ve worked on are typically some combination of Physics, ML, or discrete-event simulation. Algorithmic techniques combine search and ML. The USPs of our work are computational scale that is practical in the real-world; and the ability to work on small-data problems using domain knowledge. We also work on translating our research into real-world software solutions.
